About Mech Brawl
Mech Brawl is our own design, so there is no long history behind the name. It sits where two popular genres meet: the platform fighter, in which you win by launching opponents out of the arena instead of emptying a health bar, and the side-scrolling shooter, in which you aim freely with the mouse. If you have been searching for a robot battle game to play with friends in a browser, that is the gap it fills.
Every mech starts with three lives and a damage counter at zero. Hits add to the counter, and the higher it climbs the further each new hit throws you. A fresh mech barely moves when struck, while a badly damaged one is sent flying. The stage has one wide floor and several platforms you can jump up through from below, and it is surrounded on all sides by a blast zone: the pit underneath, the sky above and both side edges all cost a life.
The blaster fires rapid bolts that add damage a little at a time. The rocket reloads more slowly, explodes with splash and delivers far more knockback, so it is the tool for finishing someone off. Jetpack fuel is limited and only refills while you stand on the ground. Matches last up to two and a half minutes.
How to play Mech Brawl
- The objective is to be the last mech with lives remaining. Each player starts with three.
- Move with A and D, and press W to jump. Holding it in the air fires the jetpack, which burns fuel that only recharges on the ground.
- Aim with the mouse. Click or press J to fire the blaster, and right-click or press K to launch a rocket.
- Every hit raises the victim's damage percentage and knocks them back. The higher the percentage, the bigger the knockback.
- Leaving the screen through the bottom, the top or either side costs one life. Your damage resets and you reappear on the centre platform with brief protection.
- Platforms are one-way: you can rise through them from below and land on top.
- A mech that loses its third life is out, and its finishing position is fixed at that point.
- The last mech left wins. If the timer ends first, players are ranked by lives remaining, then kills, then lowest damage.

Mech Brawl tips and strategy
- Build damage with the blaster and keep the rocket for when the target's percentage is high. A rocket on a fresh mech is mostly wasted, and on a damaged one it ends the life.
- Hold the centre of the stage. A mech near the middle survives hits that would send one standing at the edge straight into the blast zone.
- Save fuel for recovery. If you hover constantly you will have nothing left when a rocket throws you over the pit, so land often to recharge.
- Aim rockets at the ground beside an opponent on a platform. The splash catches them even when a direct hit would be dodged.
- After you respawn, use the protection window to drop onto the fight and get a few shots in before anyone can hurt you.
Mech Brawl FAQ
How do you lose a life in Mech Brawl?
There is no health bar. You lose a life only by being knocked or falling outside the arena, through the pit below, off either side or past the top. Damage simply makes you easier to launch that far.
What does the damage percentage mean?
It tracks how much punishment your mech has taken in its current life. Each point increases the distance the next hit throws you, so a mech above 100 percent can be sent off the stage by a single rocket.
How does the jetpack work?
Hold the jump key in mid-air to hover and climb. Fuel drains while the jets are lit and comes back only when your feet are on a platform, which makes the jetpack a recovery tool more than a way to stay airborne.
How many players can join?
Two to six mechs share the stage. A two player match is a tense duel, and a full room is a free-for-all in which rockets regularly hit more than one opponent.
What decides the winner if time runs out?
The two-and-a-half-minute clock rarely expires, but if it does the mech with the most lives wins. Level on lives, the player with more kills goes ahead, and after that the one carrying less damage.
How many players do I need for Mech Brawl?
Mech Brawl supports 2 to 6 players. If a full table of real people isn't ready when you queue, MultiplayerHub fills the empty seats with bots instantly so the match starts without waiting.
Do I need to download anything or sign up to play Mech Brawl?
No. Mech Brawl runs entirely in your browser tab โ no app install, no account, no email required. Pick a name and you're matched within seconds.
Is Mech Brawl really free?
Yes, no catch โ Mech Brawl is ad-supported rather than pay-to-play, so there is no subscription or in-game purchase to unlock anything.
Can I play Mech Brawl with a specific friend instead of strangers?
Create a private room from the Mech Brawl page to get a shareable room code, or enter a code a friend already sent you to jump straight into their table.
