2 Player Games Online

Classic 2 player board games

The head to head classics are all here. Chess, checkers, backgammon, reversi, gomoku, Go, shogi and nine men's morris are turn based, so they work just as well on a phone as on a laptop. Mancala and its regional cousins pallanguzhi and sungka are quick to learn and finish in a few minutes, which makes them a good first game with someone new.

Two player sports and action

If you want something faster, 8 ball pool, air hockey, table tennis, badminton and carrom are played in real time against one opponent. Archer duel, tower siege and boxing are short duels where a round is over in a minute or two, so a best of three fits into a coffee break.

How to play with one friend

Open any game, choose the private room option and share the room code. Your friend enters the code on their own device and you are both seated at the same table. There are no accounts, so nobody has to sign up before the first move.

Can two people play on the same device?

Most games here are designed for each player to use their own phone or computer, joined through a room code. That keeps hidden information such as cards or ship positions private and lets you play from different places.

Which 2 player game is quickest?

Tic-tac-toe, rock paper scissors and tug of war finish in under a minute. Four in a row, dots and boxes and air hockey usually take two to four minutes.

What if my friend is not online?

Use quick match instead. You are paired with another player who is waiting, and if no one is, a bot fills the second seat so you can still play a full game.
