About Anagram Sprint
An anagram puzzle gives you the letters of a real word in the wrong order and asks you to put them right, so TSEILN becomes LISTEN. Newspapers have printed jumbled word puzzles for generations, and they remain a favourite warm-up for crossword and word-game fans. Anagram Sprint turns that single puzzle into a rapid series with a scoreboard.
After a three-second countdown, each player works through a personal list of scrambled words drawn from one shared pool of common English words. Nobody sees the same word twice in a match. The first four words have four or five letters, the next six have six or seven, and from the eleventh word onward they run to eight or nine letters. Longer words score more, and consecutive correct answers add a growing streak bonus.
Shuffle re-jumbles the same letters at no cost when you need a fresh look, and Skip moves you to another word. Three wrong guesses also move you on, so one stubborn word never ruins a round. It is a good game for building vocabulary and spelling speed, for students and adults alike, and it plays well solo as a personal best challenge.
How to play Anagram Sprint
- Score more points than the other players before the 90-second timer ends.
- You are shown the letters of one real English word in scrambled order. Type the original word and press Enter to submit.
- A correct answer scores 8 points plus 3 for every letter, so a five-letter word is worth 23 and an eight-letter word 32.
- Each correct answer in a row adds a streak bonus of 3 points more than the last, up to a maximum bonus of 24.
- A wrong answer scores nothing and resets your streak. After three wrong answers on the same word you are moved to a new one.
- Shuffle rearranges the same letters for free. Skip gives up the word and brings a new one, but it resets your streak.
- Words get longer as you solve more: short words first, six and seven letters after four solves, eight and nine letters after ten.
- When time is up, the highest score wins.

Anagram Sprint tips and strategy
- Pull out common endings first. Spotting ING, ED, ER, LY or TION in the jumble usually leaves only three or four letters to arrange.
- Pair up the consonants that travel together, such as CH, SH, TH, BR and ST. Building around a likely opening blend is faster than testing every order.
- Tap Shuffle before you think about skipping. A new arrangement often reveals the word at once, and it costs nothing, while Skip throws away your streak.
- Protect a long streak. At eight in a row every answer carries 24 bonus points, close to the value of a second word, so take a breath and check your spelling.
- Do not guess wildly. A wrong submission ends the streak exactly as a skip does, so only press Enter when the word looks right.
Anagram Sprint FAQ
How is the anagram score worked out?
Each solved word is worth 8 points plus 3 per letter. On top of that, a streak bonus adds 3 points for every consecutive correct answer after the first, capped at 24. Wrong answers and skips score zero and reset the streak.
What if the letters make more than one word?
Only the intended word is accepted. If a jumble could also spell a different valid word, that alternative counts as a wrong guess, so try the other arrangement or tap Shuffle for another view of the letters.
Do all players get the same words?
No. Everyone draws from the same word pool and follows the same difficulty curve, but each player's list is shuffled separately. That means you cannot copy an answer, and no word repeats for you within a match.
How long are the words?
They range from four to nine letters. You begin with four and five-letter words, move to six and seven letters after four correct answers, and reach eight and nine-letter words once you have solved ten.
Is there a penalty for skipping a word?
Skipping does not subtract points, but it ends your current streak, which removes the bonus on your next answers. It is usually worth one or two Shuffles before giving up on a word.
