Emoji Guess: Multiplayer Emoji Guessing Game Online

Emoji Guess is an emoji guessing game online where one to six players see the same string of emoji and race to type what it stands for. A lion and a crown, a ship, an iceberg and a broken heart: each clue hides a well-known movie, TV show or phrase. Eight rounds decide the winner. It is free in your browser, with real players, bots for open seats, and private rooms for friends.

About Emoji Guess

Emoji quizzes took off in group chats, where friends challenge each other to work out a film title from a handful of tiny pictures. Emoji Guess turns that into a proper multiplayer party game with a clock and a scoreboard, so it settles who actually got there first.

Every round shows one clue to the whole room for 25 seconds. You type your answer and submit it as many times as you like. The clue pool is curated and family-friendly, covering popular movies, television shows and common phrases, with nothing so obscure that a fair guess would be rejected. Answers ignore capital letters and punctuation, and common alternative spellings are accepted, so typing spiderman or Spider-Man both count.

If your guess is nearly right, you get a private nudge that you are close without the answer being given away. Ordinary wrong guesses appear in a shared guess feed that everyone can see, which is half the fun, while a correct guess only shows that the player solved it. Points come from a 40 point base, up to 40 more for speed, and an order bonus of 40, 24 or 14 for the first three solvers. It is a strong choice for movie nights, team icebreakers and remote get-togethers.

How to play Emoji Guess

  1. The goal is to score the most points over eight rounds by decoding each emoji clue faster than the other players.
  2. At the start of a round, the same emoji clue appears for everyone and a 25 second timer begins.
  3. Type what you think the clue represents and press Enter or tap Send. You can guess as often as you like.
  4. Capital letters and punctuation do not matter, and accepted alternative titles count as correct.
  5. A guess that is very close triggers a private hint that you are nearly there. Other wrong guesses appear in the feed for all players.
  6. A correct answer scores 40 points, plus up to 40 for time remaining and a bonus for solving before others.
  7. When time runs out, the answer is revealed. After eight rounds, the highest total wins.

Emoji Guess tips and strategy

  • Read the emoji as words in order first. Many clues are literal, with each picture standing for one word of the title.
  • If the literal reading fails, think about the plot. A clue may describe what happens in the story instead of spelling out the name.
  • Guess early and often. There is no penalty for a wrong answer, and both the speed bonus and the order bonus shrink with every second you wait.
  • Use the near-miss hint. When the game tells you that you are close, try the same title with or without The, as a sequel, or with a different spelling.
  • Watch the feed for wrong guesses from others. They show which ideas have already failed and can point you toward the right genre.

Emoji Guess FAQ

What do the emoji clues represent?

Each clue stands for a well-known movie, TV show or everyday phrase. The pool is curated to be family-friendly and recognisable, so answers are titles most players have heard of, not obscure trivia.

Does spelling have to be exact?

Not quite. Case and punctuation are ignored and common alternative titles are accepted. A guess that is only a letter or two off is treated as a near miss and gets a private hint, but it does not score until corrected.

Can other players see my guesses?

Wrong guesses appear in a shared feed, so think of them as public. A correct guess is never shown as text. The room only sees that you solved the clue, so the answer stays hidden from players still guessing.

How is the score worked out?

Solving a clue gives 40 points, a speed bonus of up to 40 depending on how much of the 25 seconds remains, and an order bonus of 40, 24, 14, 8 or 3 for the first five solvers.

How many rounds are there and how long does it take?

A game is eight rounds. With a 25 second limit per clue plus a brief intro and answer reveal each time, a full match lasts around three to four minutes.

How many players do I need for Emoji Guess?

Emoji Guess supports 1 to 6 players. If a full table of real people isn't ready when you queue, MultiplayerHub fills the empty seats with bots instantly so the match starts without waiting.

Do I need to download anything or sign up to play Emoji Guess?

No. Emoji Guess runs entirely in your browser tab โ€” no app install, no account, no email required. Pick a name and you're matched within seconds.

Is Emoji Guess really free?

Yes โ€” Emoji Guess and every other game on MultiplayerHub is free to play, supported by ads rather than a paywall or loot boxes.

Can I play Emoji Guess with a specific friend instead of strangers?

Create a private room from the Emoji Guess page to get a shareable room code, or enter a code a friend already sent you to jump straight into their table.
